Home I Wonder Post navigation ← Older posts Pobre Ana” Project Posted on May 14, 2019 by tolivan We did a project in Spanish class over Mexico and found the population of some of the states, capitals, or towns in Mexico. Also, we labeled some of the states and capitals on a map. Then we researched ten places or things we could see in Mexico, but two of them had to be in Nayarit, Mexico. This project connected with our curriculum because we’re reading a book called, Pobre Ana” and basically Ana goes to live with another family in Nayarit for three months. Some things that I learned were the populations of some places in Mexico and that Mexico has states within its country. When I researched about different places I could visit, I found that there’s a lot of amazing places in Mexico that you can visit and they just look so interesting. For example, I know that two places I would for sure visit are the Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe and any beach in Puerto Vallarta. Linear Art Posted in Uncategorized Is it okay to break the rules? Posted on October 31, 2016 by tolivan In 1960, four African American college students sat down at a whites only” lunch counter. They mean that don’t be mean and let other people sit with you even if you’re breaking the rules. Yes,it’s okay to break the rules because sometimes you have to cover/protect friends or family and just to have fun. It’s okay to break the rules because sometimes you have to cover/protect friends or family. For example, my family had to cover my dad from the police because my mom was about to have her baby and my dad was driving really fast to the hospital. As well as,in fourth grade I signed my planner because my mom forgot to and I signed so I wouldn’t get in trouble. So don’t be upset for breaking the rules it is okay. Breaking the rules can save people’s life. It’s okay to break the rules because you want to have fun. To begin with, last year I was talking to my friend and I went over there to where she was she gave me a piece of gum and I was laughing with her. The teacher came back and signed my planner because I wasn’t in my sit. As well as,in second grade we won’t each allowed to chase boys outside and my friends and I did it for fun. Our teacher saw us and got us in trouble. It’s okay to have a little fun and break the rules. Yes, it’s okay to break the rules because you want to protect someone and you just want to laugh. Posted in Uncategorized For the Birds Posted on October 25, 2016 by tolivan unknown-story5 Posted in Uncategorized How I Survived Camp Posted on April 22, 2016 by tolivan Dear Diary, Today was the second day at my camp and how I survived bullies, broccoli, and snake hill. The first thing we did was wake up at 7:00. At 7:30 we had to be at breakfast, and we had half an hour to get dressed, and do whatever we did in the morning”. When I got to the restroom it was crowded in there and guys were brushing their teeth. At exactly 8:00 was the start of summer school, the only problem with summer school was that school was held in a couple of tents on the camp grounds. First period was science, second period was English, third period was social studies, and finally fourth period was math. But school wasn’t over yet, I found out that we had one more period. So every morning from 11:00 to 11:45, everyone at camp, including the teachers, had to sit and do nothing but stare at a book. They called it D.E.A.R, which stands for Drop Everything and Read and it was really boring.”Then from 2:05 to 3:05 every day that it didn’t rain, the boys’ camp got to use the waterfront”. A waterfront was were there was lake and for an hour all you did was swim in the lake. After that we went to eat dinner which was broccoli and I don’t like it. Finally at exactly 8:00 p.m. we had to go to sleep and that’s how my day ended”. Talk to you later, Rafe Posted in Uncategorized The Big Surprise Posted on April 7, 2016 by tolivan It’s been four months since my sister’s surprise 9th birthday, and it was really entertaining planning it,because that day she was so happy and she had a lot of fun too. First of all,my aunt,my mom,and I went to buy decorations for the party, while my sister went to the mall.Immediately after we finished buying decorations, my mom started hanging balloons everywhere. My aunt yelled, Be right back” I answered, Ok” After my aunt left I remembered that we forgot to buy a cake and I ran to my mom and shouted, We forgot to buy a cake!”, Its fine I’ll call your aunt so she can go buy one” she announced Finally, after two hours, everything was done and my sister got back from the mall with a bunch of clothes. We all went to hide and when she came in we screamed, Happy Birthday!” My sister was so happy and then she told my mom Why didn’t you tell me anything!” It was a surprise”,my mom announced. My sister started giving hugs to everyone and shouting, Thank you everyone” After the party was over my sister came up to me and admitted You’re always be my favorite sister!” and I answer,”You will too.” That day I was overjoyed with what my sister had told me, and I learned that always be happy no matter what. Posted in English Holocaust Lessons Posted on March 3, 2016 by tolivan In the Holocaust I learn that people don’t have to be treated different, they should be treated the same way everybody else likes to be treated. Some people may be different because they were sent to Auschwitz and many people that were sent there were killed. That doesn’t mean you have to treat them like it was there fault that they went their. You should treat them like you treat your friends or even family. Research shows that Germans killed Jews and people that they disliked. This is one thing that I learned, treat people the same way no matter what happened in their life. Another thing that I learned was that there was a very hard life back then mainly because of Auschwitz. If you were Jewish or people that Germans did not liked they sent them to Auschwitz concentration/death camp.People there had to sleep in horrible conditions. When Germans didn’t need them anymore they just killed them. 1.1 million Jews were sent there and at least 960,000 were killed. This is what I learn that people had a hard time back then. Posted in English Number The Stars Posted on January 25, 2016 by tolivan Dear Diary , October 1,1943 Today we were walking home from school and I told EllenI’ll race you to the corner!” But Ellen said no because her legs were too short. I was like we have to practice for the athletic meet on Friday, and I was begging Ellen, then she said Oh, all right. Ready, she said. Go!” I outdistance my friend quickly, even though my shoes came untied. The corner was just ahead. I looked up, panting, just as she reached the corner. My laugh stopped. I was about to run into a soldier, but I stopped immediately. Ellen stopped right after me. Far back, little Kirsti came running. There were two soldiers. One of the soldier ask Why are you running?” I was racing with my friend” I said. The soldier ask me what was in my backpack and I said School Books.” Are you a good student” the soldier asked. Yes” He kept asking me questions and then Ellen. Then the soldier said Go home”,all of you.”Are you going to tell your mother?” Ellen asked. ‘’I’m not” When I got there it was too late Kirsti had already told everything to my mom. My mom said What happened, Annemarie” I said Nothing, don’t worry” I felt...
